Role: Lead Designer + Communication Coordinator
Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, XD
Duration: 2020–2025 (5 years)
Overview
This is a curated selection of design work I created as part of the communications and creative team at Redemption Church North Mountain. The work includes branding for sermon series, slides for Sunday projection, holiday campaigns, and printed collateral. These projects allowed me to stay creatively active after college, sharpen my visual design skills, and work in real-world, fast-paced creative environments.
While this work is more graphic design–focused, it continues to inform my approach to UI/UX through typography, layout systems, responsiveness across mediums, and content clarity.
What I Gained From This Work
- Built proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects for motion work
- Learned to design for multiple formats: screen, print, projection, and motion
- Developed creative solutions within a limited, minimalist brand system
- Learned to interpret and respond to stakeholder feedback from ministry leaders
- Strengthened my ability to iterate quickly under tight deadlines
Sermon Series Graphics
A selection of graphics created to support sermon series at Redemption Church. Each sermon series graphic was created to reflect the message and tone of the teaching, often being used across multiple formats (digital, print, and slides).
Projected Slides
Slides used weekly for announcements, welcomes, and event promotion. Designed for maximum readability on old projectors with low color accuracy. Includes a motion-animated “Connect” slide using After Effects.
Holiday Graphics
Created for Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas campaigns. Included main slides, printed invites and handouts. Each design balanced tradition and clarity, while aligning with the church’s modern, clean aesthetic.
Printed Materials
Print designs included youth ministry invites, kids candy drive flyers, and multi-purpose event cards. These were often created with tight turnarounds, requiring fast iteration and stakeholder feedback.
Final Note
While not traditional product design, this body of work helped me maintain and strengthen the visual design skills that I bring into UI/UX. It reflects real-world collaboration, audience awareness, and thoughtful communication design — all of which shape how I now approach digital product experiences.
